Garrett started Mankato Woodworks in 2017 when he built his house. Garrett was dissatisfied with the quality of the furniture he purchased when furnishing the house, as the items did not last. Garrett then went to Menards and purchased 1x4 dimensional pine to make an end table and coffee table. Soon after, he photographed the items, recreated them, and sold them on Facebook Marketplace.
Mankato Woodworks really launched into the major league furniture market during 2020, specifically in the summer of the pandemic when people were doing a lot of DIY and home improvement. Hitting the ground running in the fall of 2020, we heated our garage space, and geared up for 75 table builds in 2021.
In the summer of 2022 we have produced some of the finest items to date, such as furnished tables for a high end restaurant in downtown Minneapolis, our finest family heirloom dining tables, a mid century modern bedroom set, full on dining sets complete with tables, chairs, and benches, and more. We have also added wood shop and marketing staff, as well as a larger online presence.
Spring of 2023 Mankato Woodworks moved into our new shop location in Eagle Lake, MN. We continue to supply restaurants, homes, stores, and offices with high quality tables and wood products.
